Dusting
Domestic cleaners should always use a micro-fibre cloth for dusting. Slightly dampen the cloth to pick up the dust particles rather than a dry cloth. Cleaners will tell you that dusting from top to bottom has its advantages.

Shower Screen
A good domestic cleaner will tell you that once you have cleaned your shower screen or stainless steel a light layer of baby oil will prevent the build of limescale. Trust I Mop Clean’s cleaners to tell you that this will save you time.

Limescale
(Not to be used on gold plated areas) – Domestic cleaners at I Mop Clean have used lemon juice and white vinegar for years. For tough limescale marks our domestic cleaners will soak cotton wool in lemon juice or vinegar. They will place this on the affected areas, wrap in a plastic bag or cling film, tie it and then leave over night, just needing a quick wipe down the next day. This cleaning technique is particularly useful for the Aylebsury, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire region where there is a lot of hard water.

Windows
Domestic cleaners choice for windows would be half a litre of water, mix this with 4 tablespoons of vinegar and 1 table spoon of lemon juice. One of our domestic cleaners, Anna, will always use newspaper to buff the window leaving it clean and sparkly.

Mircowaves
Our cleaners will tell you that citrus fruit, particularly oranges will do a great cleaning job in your microwave. Place a bowl of water with a cut lemon or orange into the microwave. Turn the microwave on for 2 minutes and this will loosen the stains. You will then find cleaning the microwave a doddle, it will also smell good.

Oven Rings
Cleaners will often tell you the oven is the most difficult area to clean, particularly the oven rings. Our domestic cleaners would fill a sink with hot soapy water, even boiled water would be good. Put the rings into the water and leave for half an hour. The debris will loosen and they will be much easier to clean.

Venitian Blinds
Domestic cleaners should close the slats one way and then dust with a dampened cloth. To clean thoroughly you should then close the opposite way and clean again to achieve the ultimate clean.

Blocked Sink
One cup of bicarbonate of soda mixed with one cup of salt and one cup of vinegar will shift most blocked drains. Then wash this mixture down with boiling water. Be careful not to burn yourself whilst cleaning out those drains!

Floors
Domestic cleaners should always sweep a floor before mopping, this helps mops last much longer and stay a lot cleaner.

Cloths
Our domestic cleaners will thoroughly clean their cloths after each clean to ensure all bacteria is banished.

Narrow Vase
Dissolve a soluble aspirin or a denture cleaning tablet in water within the vase. Leave overnight to work its magic. The following day add 2 tablespoons of rice and swirl this around a few times. Then rinse the vase out and you will have a clean vase. Perfect. Also works well for decanters.

Pet Hair
Don’t forget our furry friends can malt. Use a damp cloth or rubber glove to remove the hair around the surface and gather together. Furniture can be cleaned in minutes with this technique, its remarkable.

Spills
Everyone spills something every now and again. Our domestic cleaners will share with you a little secret, ssssh! White wine and salt are the heroes of the day when dealing with a red wine spillage, you need to be quick though.
